Midland Highway upgrade

MR HOWARD — I was pleased to see that works are now underway on four overtaking lanes on the Midland Highway between Meredith and Bannockburn. This will provide two additional 1-kilometre-long overtaking lanes in each direction with flexible safety barriers along the entire length to prevent run-off-road crashes. This $12.5 million investment by the Andrews government builds on work done by the Brumby government to install overtaking lanes on the Midland Highway between Elaine and Meredith. The upgrade will provide a much safer and more reliable journey on one of our busiest roads —

The DEPUTY SPEAKER — The member for Forest Hill.
