I am pleased to speak on the Livestock Disease Control Amendment Bill 2016. As people on both sides of the house would be aware, the livestock industry across this country is very, very important to the people who work within that industry, which provides their income, their lifestyle and so on. It is also important for export and economic opportunities for this country.

I was honoured and humbled to be able to attend this year's Anzac dawn service at Gallipoli, along with the member for Rowville and Mr Khalil Eideh, a member in the other place. This was, not surprisingly, a very moving service, set against the floodlit Gallipoli cove.
A new $200 million Agriculture Infrastructure and Jobs Fund will also be established, driving economic growth in our regions. The Fund will support Victorian farmers from paddock to port by investing in agricultural infrastructure and supply chains, reducing costs so our farmers and agribusinesses stay competitive.
We look forward to finalising the EBA with our firefighters, because whether they be career firefighters or volunteer firefighters, they do a great job in supporting our communities, helping to keep them safe from fire and of course doing the other work that CFA volunteers do, whether that be road rescue or other things some members of the career fighter brigade do. They are clearly strongly supported and will continue to be supported by the Andrews Labor government.
