I am pleased to add my comments on the Water Amendment (Water Trading) Bill 2014. As we have heard from other speakers, the bill ties into the stages of intergovernmental agreements that have taken place in regard to the Murray-Darling Basin plan.

Yesterday I joined with the Leader of the Opposition and the Labor candidate for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas, at Kyneton, where we were able to announce that if elected to government in November, Labor will provide $11.5 million to build a new primary school next to the secondary school.
Last week I was very pleased to be able to join the Leader of the Opposition and the member for Ballarat West in Sebastopol, where we were able to announce that if elected to government in November, Labor will fund a $10 million stage 3 upgrade of Phoenix P-12 Community College.
The matter I raise is for the attention of the Treasurer, and it relates to the recent news that BEST Community Development has been placed into the hands of an administrator. One of BEST's properties is the former Golden Point Primary School, which is now known as GPlace.
On Saturday, 23 February, I was pleased to visit the Buninyong Smart Building and Living Expo, a new initiative of the Friends of Royal Park in Buninyong. Royal Park is the former home of the Buninyong football and cricket clubs, which were relocated to the new Buninyong community reserve nearly 10 years ago.
I was pleased to attend the opening of Federation College, the new home of UB Tech. This new modern suite of buildings, which was funded by the Labor government, provides an exciting home for secondary students who want to study technology subjects.
I have an issue to raise with the Minister for Roads. I ask him to take action to have the 80-kilometre-an-hour speed limit sign on the Glenelg Highway, on the eastern approach to Linton, moved to encompass the Hewitts Road intersection. This request comes as a result of a community barbecue I held in Linton last week where I was pleased to meet with many residents from the Linton area, which come the election this year will be part of the new electorate of Buninyong.

I am pleased to add some comments in regard to this Education and Training Reform Amendment (Registration of Early Childhood Teachers and Victorian Institute of Teaching) Bill 2014, because the focus of this bill, as we have heard from other speakers, really relates to issues of early childhood education.
