Victorian Labor Launches ‘OUR SCHOOL NEEDS’ Campaign

Local primary and secondary schools across Victoria are still waiting on the Napthine Government to provide key funds for building projects according to local MPs Geoff Howard and Sharon Knight.

Mr Howard said students are learning in deteriorating or unfinished school buildings and parents and teachers are worried.

“In Labor’s Our School Needs campaign, parents and teachers will be encouraged to nominate local schools where facilities need upgrading,” Mr Howard said.

“People can add individual ‘school needs’, along with their contact details, to a dedicated website.”

“Participants can also ‘vote’ for individual cases already contributed, to indicate their support.”

Ms Knight said the campaign will let parents, teachers and other members of the local community have their say on what they’re worried about at our local schools.

“Visit our website, vote for local projects or add some of your own, from buildings to bathrooms, playgrounds to sports grounds, we want to hear your concerns.”

“Tell us what your school needs; don’t let our kids miss out,” Ms Knight said.
