Only Labor Will Make Buninyong Roads Safe
Victorian Labor will fix road safety issues in Buninyong, Leader of the Opposition, Daniel Andrews, announced.
Mr Andrews joined Ballarat East MP, Geoff Howard, and members of the Buninyong community, to deliver the good news.
Under Labor’s plan, the Midland Highway school crossing will be upgraded with flashing speed lights and a dedicated pedestrian crossing installed on Warrenheip Street, to improve safety on these busy roads.
Labor will also make sure that local companies have priority to work on the project.
“Buninyong is home to lots of families and they want to ensure that their kids can walk safely to school.”
“Denis Napthine has completely ignored the Buninyong community, with no action to make our roads safer for pedestrians, motorists and other road users.”
“Only Labor stands up for Buninyong – we will improve road crossings and keep locals safe.”
- Under Labor’s Project 10,000 transport alternative, Victorian Labor will deliver a guaranteed $1 billion to repair and upgrade regional roads.
- Almost 47 per cent of Buninyong households have children compared to 38 per cent across the rest of the City of Ballarat.
- Buninyong Primary School is a thriving school with almost 600 students across two campuses.
