State Member for Buninyong, Geoff Howard joined Sebastopol CFA Brigade Captain, Ben Cary to celebrate $23,000 in funding to create an art installation featuring sculptures and lighting at the original station building celebrating the 150th anniversary of the brigade.

The funding is part of $70,000 allocated to local CFA brigades across the Buninyong electorate from the first round of the Andrews Labor Government’s Enhancing Volunteerism Grants Program.

“Our local volunteer CFA brigades play a vital role as part of our local emergency services, protecting lives and property in the community,” Mr Howard said.

“This funding will assist local brigades with the purchase of operational equipment, support for training, and to deliver local community events to recruit and engage volunteers.

“The Andrews Labor Government is supporting those who protect us with access to the funding and equipment they need to carry out their roles and stay safe.”
