Member for Buninyong, Geoff Howard visited Mount Clear College to view progress on the school’s $2.42 million modernisation of its technology wing.

“It’s great to be back at Mount Clear College and see the progress towards the school’s tech hub well underway,” Mr Howard said.

“Featuring specially designed spaces for metal, wood, robotics, mechanics, manufacturing, 3D printing, design, fabric and home economics – these new classrooms will give students here a high-tech advantage.

“It’s important that our kids gain the skills they need to keep pace with advances in sciences, technology, engineering and maths to meet the demand of new and emerging industries.

“Once construction is completed later this year, these new facilities will make what is already a great school even better.

“I’d like to acknowledge e+ architecture for their modern and innovative designs and local firm Nicholson Construction who are delivering the project.

“Having recently joined the Premier to open Ballarat’s new Tech School, it’s great to see another project underway that is promoting students appreciation of science and technology as well as supporting local jobs.

“This is another step on our way to making Victoria the ‘Education State’ by delivering facilities that will inspire students to achieve their best.”
