Member for Buninyong, Geoff Howard and Member for Melton, Don Nardella today visited The Laurels Men’s Shed in Bacchus Marsh to announce a grant of $24,640 from the Andrews Labor Government toward construction of a new workshop.

“I’ve been privileged to meet many ‘shedders’ across our region and to see first-hand how men’s sheds benefit the entire community in which they operate,” Mr Howard said.

“The Laurels Men’s Shed will convert disused stables into a new workshop and provide a functional space for members to continue working on projects that benefit the community.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce that the Andrews Labor Government is making a significant contribution by awarding $24,640 to this $37,000 project.

“Men’s sheds are great places for men to meet, make social connections and actively participate in their communities.

“They enhance the physical and mental wellbeing of men and are a great asset to our community.

“Congratulations to the blokes here at The Laurels Men’s Shed who do a fantastic job supporting each other and the community.”

The grant is part of $879,000 delivered in this funding round to support the construction of 13 new men’s sheds and the refurbishment of 10 existing men’s sheds across Victoria.
