Labor will fix dangerous crossing in Napoleons

Labor will improve our kids’ safety in Napoleons, building a new school crossing
across Ballarat-Colac Road.

Leader of the Opposition, Daniel Andrews, joined State Member for
Ballarat East, Geoff Howard, today to announce the news to the community.

There is no dedicated school crossing on Ballarat-Colac Road, only fixed school speed reduction signs. Napoleons has a population of 535, with 180 students enrolled at Napoleons Primary School.

Parents at Napoleons Primary School have made their voices heard and Labor has
listened, Mr Andrews said.

Mr Howard said in March 2013, the parents at the school presented me with a petition containing 299 signatures to forward to the roads Minister.

‘And since then, the Liberals have taken no action, let our roads deteriorate, cancelled the school safety sign program and then refused to fund this school crossing.’

The Labor Party has also previously committed as part of Labor’s Project 10,000 plan, that Labor will guarantee $1 billion to fix regional roads.
