FUNDING TO SUPPORT VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADES IN BUNINYONG

FUNDING TO SUPPORT VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADES IN BUNINYONG

State Member for Buninyong, Geoff Howard joined Meredith CFA Brigade Captain, Chris Jones and local CFA volunteers to celebrate $35,407 in funding for a new shed at the fire station.

The funding is part of $98,000 allocated to local CFA brigades across the Buninyong electorate from the Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP).

“Our local volunteer CFA brigades play a vital role as part of our local emergency services, protecting lives and property in the community,” Mr Howard said.

“This funding will assist local brigades with the purchase of operational equipment, vehicles, and to deliver station improvements.

“The Andrews Labor Government is supporting those who protect us with access to the funding and equipment they need to carry out their roles and stay safe.

“As well as their role in fighting fires, these brigades have done a remarkable job raising their own funds. The Andrews Government is contributing $2 for every $1 contributed through CFA brigade fundraising.”
